A Promise is a Promise...

Hiking brings you closer with the Magnificent Artist, your ancestors, and with your self. Fears and suspicions of your fellow humans soon fade as you take step after step alone on rugged terrain. Today I took my time to discover new places as well as challenging ones. At one point I nearly slid down the side of a cliff. What a rush yet also a realization that caution no matter the situation is a good thing. Here are the photos of my most recent hiking jaunt.

This photo was shot from the side of a cliff. I rock climbed without the usual gear and hiked the rest of the way to the opposite side of the mountain where the descent offered a not as nearly steep path down to the shoreline.

I'd be telling an untruth if I didn't admit elation after arriving on firm, flat ground. This hike had purpose, though I had no idea what to shoot, so I pointed my lens at the many shapes the landscape offered. The air fresh and uncontaminated by chemtrails cleared my nostrils and even my eyesight which had become strained from the previous night of shooting at the Erotic Exotic Ball. That's another story, and yes, I've provided a photo from that as well below. Anyway, there

I was trodding along the multipurpose trail that ran along 101 and ocean to my right. I spotted dark silohoutted bodies in the cold Pacific waves. They were surfers, dozens of them, wading atop their boards. They looked like seals, surely they appeared that way to the large white sharks that undoubtedly inhabited the water.
Are we oblivious to what is happening around us or are creatures driven to frivolity when the going gets tough. I had to believe that these sandy folk were simply enjoying the moment, as was I.
More views of the landscape near Oregon (on my way south). I also noticed that sky has lost its original blueness, that sharp, piercing blue deep sky. Something definitely is on the hor(us)izon.
I have digressed, so let's continue with the imagery....

So, while everyone caught up in whimsical politics and "electile dysfunction" from electronic voting machines, I cleansed my mind with a challenging journey. I shot a few surfers and moved on, with several high hills in sight. My internal question wasn't "could I get to them" but what would I do once there?"
Ok, as promised, I've attached one shot from the Erotic Exotic Ball. This event, like Burning Man, to me has sinister undertones. Many uninhibited innocents attended, but there were also nefarious regents in the house. I attended with an 'all access' video pass that allowed me into all areas (VIP, backstage, 'special rooms...etc), in addition to the privilege of videotaping anything and everything. Out of all the trappings there seemed to be nothing new and in fact everything reminiscent of a Roman orgy. I think Caligula's offspring were there. The energy beamed highly and at times got out of control with one negative altercation. Most of the nudity, as usual, was in the male form, with women scantily clad or fully dressed in either costume or street clothing. I recognized a few faces from other events and I guess they recognized me, maybe. I left at the close of the spectacle with a good friend and his girl friend. She shocked me as I always thought of her as very shy and conservative. Her see-through nurses outfit said otherwise. I was glad to see she could be just as open as her man. But then this is California, and nothing should shock me in this state. When I returned to my tortoise shell, I had to leave my shoes outside as the soles were covered in many different sticky substances from the event floor. Let's just say this photo doesn't come close to what happened that night, and yes these guys did do what you think they did...and more than once some of them. I don't think the innocent ones, even with their seemingly well-seasoned outer shells, were aware of the serious alchemy at play.

Dream on dreamers...
