Are Americans Prudes?
I recently saw a posting on a message board where a German asked why Americans are such prudes when it comes to sex and nudity on TV? Well, here is a my sardonic answer to that question:

That's our motto here in America: keep em' circumcized and ready for war! After all we are the police and guard dog of the world. Nudity and egalitarian sexuality Can never be shown anywhere in mainstream media (unless you pay for it). Teasing is ok as long as it's embarrassing to either gender in some way--especially near male nudity. We keep our kids (especially the boys) desensitized to violence with our loads-of-fun, violent dripping video games, and TV shows. Speaking of shows, we just love producing one cop/lawyer doctor drama after the other. Even our sitcoms are great escapist, issue-avoiding ways to keep us complacently, sex-fearing creatures here in the good ol' USA. To be more blunt, when it comes to nudity we'd rather "whore-ify" our women ...and to an extent men. We make ya pay to see those breasts and vaginas. So you see, we have our own way of seeing sex and violence. More violence and less sex, unless the sex has violent overtones. See, we're not prudes in America!
